Since I’m tired of constantly updating an OLD list (although as satisfying as it is to see so many items crossed off!!), I am updating my To-Do list in a new post. Aren’t you excited? Here’s where I am currently (and I’ll have you note that most of these items are waiting on OTHER people so I guess it’s not really MY to-do list per se, but it’s my job to make sure it’s done):

1) Finish Living Trust
– 6/4 – Have finally read the thing and edited it and sent to the attorney. She has to get it out of storage and look it over. Can’t imagine why she doesn’t have it completely memorized from three years ago. LOL.
– 6/12, 6/15, 6/27  – Follow up email sent to attorney. (May have to go with another attorney.)
– 6/28 – gathering items for attorney (she responded yesterday)
– 6/29 – emailed stuff to attorney!! WHOOHOOO!
– 7/5 – After no response, realized that I sent to the WRONG email again. BLARGH. Re-sent today.

2) Sell craigslist items:
– Wedding Dress
– Stroller snack tray
– Twin Headboard (may keep for a friend until her house is done remodeling)

3) Put up garage shelving (this is DH’s job). It has been in our garage ready to go for at least a year. Harumph.

4) File 2012 taxes. (I know. I know. Ridiculous.)
– 6/29 – emailed all docs to CPA
– 7/2 – CPA said can’t finish until mom gives her the business files; also, she wants to talk to me about some questions. I don’t know what since it’s exactly the same as last year (more or less).
– 7/5 – CPA set up a meeting for Wed 7/10. I further realize that I really don’t like her. What’s the point of me emailing her all my docs if she’s just going to ask me to print it out FFS. I told her I wasn’t going to print out anything. I emailed her for a reason. I think in general, I don’t like older Chinese people doing my taxes. BLARGH. Looks like I have to find a better one come 2014.
– 7/10 – after meeting CPA in person, I like her ok and will likely not find another CPA. She reminds me of my mom. *sigh* Mostly waiting on my mother.

5) Set up safe

6) Have DH Rollover his old 401ks and retirement funds (3)

7) Submit FSA dependent care claim

Clearly, I am the mayor of this establishment. Last night, right before midnight, I became absolutely obsessed with finding out when my infant car seat expired. Then, I got annoyed that my infant car seat expires in 12/2014. It won’t affect baby #3, but that means I will likely have to buy a new one for baby #4. Or scrounge around friends and see if their old car seats are not expiring until end of 2015 or mid 2016.

So what did I do? I spent over half an hour researching infant car seats for a hypothetical problem for a hypothetical baby when my THIRD child is as yet, UNBORN. WTF is wrong with me, besides the obvious?

Carry on, normal people.

Sorry I’m a day late. 😦 DH had my laptop on a business trip so I couldn’t post.

I’m annoyed at myself because I finally found 2 CDs full of wedding pics that I didn’t include in my wedding album. The pics aren’t the end of the world – but it did have people that I would’ve liked to include in the album. Pics of friends and family friends that made the trip to see us. I can’t decide whether or not to order another book with extra pages added in, or just to suck it up and get over it. 😦 After all, *I* know they were there. Is it really worth another $40 and having an “extra” wedding book? Poop. 😦

What do you guys think?

I hope all of you are enjoying your day off! Here’s a funny (yet sad) story for your day.

I was putting on a pad for all my pee leakage (Hey, I’m pregnant with my THIRD kid and coughing like crazy) and DS asked me what it was. I told him it was a small diaper in case Mommy peed. DS looked at me sadly and said, “Too big, Mama. You’re too big.”

So last Monday, I bought a twin bed for DD and put it next to DS’s twin in his room (so it now forms a king). DS was so excited that he demanded to “Sleep together” with DD in their new big bed. We lay with them until the fell asleep and we left. But every night, we get less sleep than when the kids were sleeping with us because of several reasons:

1) The kids take FOREVER to fall asleep in their room because there is so much fun stuff in there and I get exasperated.

2) When they wake up in the middle of the night, I have to go in and lay with them until they fall back asleep. Of course, they wake up at different times so I have turned into a zombie.

3) The other night, DD was up from midnight to 3am. Thank goodness DH took part of the shift but we were both super cranky and tired the next day.

Finally, DH couldn’t take it anymore and he said we had to do something. So, back to sleep training. *sigh* Everyone’s favorite thing to do in the house. I looked up my Ferber book, briefed DH on the plan last night, and then told the kids that we were not going to sleep with them in their room. DS was very upset and from bath time on, tried to convince me to sleep in his room. DD didn’t really understand what was going on until we left the kids’ room.

Our method was this: I would sit outside their open door. If they came outside their room, I would hold the door closed for 15 sec (1st offense), then 30 sec (2nd offense), 1 min, 2 min, then 3 min until they slept or stopped coming out. (This is the schedule for the first night.) Needless to say, both my children were unimpressed and terribly upset. They are stubborn and screamers and it was NOT awesome.

However, DS gave up screaming after 15 minutes and went to bed. (He couldn’t fall asleep for another 45 minutes though, due to his sister screaming her brains out for 1.5 hours.) I think it helped that he has gone through this before – but mostly, it’s because DH took him on a 3+ mile walk today to and from a park near our house.

DD seriously broke our cold, dark hearts. *sigh* She was so angry her little arms were trembling and she would just stamp her feet. She tried so hard to get as close to the doorway as possible without coming out. One time, she strained so hard to reach me without leaving the room that she fell over into my lap. Of course, she also left the room several times and there were lots of door holding moments. Awesome.

Finally, the last 15-30 minutes, she was so tired from screaming that she just stood there, sucking her index finger and swaying because she was so tired. I would ask her if she wanted to go to bed but DD would just shake her head and say, “No.” So I would go back to playing Sudoku. Then, she would stumble because she was about to fall asleep standing up. I asked her a few times and finally, she yawned and her head slumped and I asked her if she wanted to go to bed. She said nothing so I scooped her out and before her head even hit the pillow, she was out.

Since I’m writing this on Monday night, we’ll see how the night-wakings go. We get to repeat this until they learn to sleep on their own. YAY!

It’s that season again – prepping for the new baby! As some of you long time followers know, for DS, my first, I never really had a nesting phase. With DD, I went crazy and did a massive purging of the house. As suspected, I didn’t do anything for another year and a half until the past few months while pregnant with DS2.

Since then:

1) I finally attacked 3-4 years of mail and filing – it only took a full day. Sigh. If I would’ve just done it daily, then I wouldn’t have this problem. But it’s done now, and thus far, I’ve been pretty good about keeping up.

2) I am putting up all sorts of things on craigslist (finally). Including (but not limited to): my wedding dress, some floor lamps, an old Kindle Fire, misc. toys, shelves I bought but never put up, etc. Hopefully, I can sell all this stuff before the baby comes. I realize the wedding dress will not go as quickly as the floor lamps did. LOL.

3) I have purchased a ridiculous amount of used small Legos. I think I’m done now. 🙂 My kids are all set for both the Duplos and the Legos – and all mostly used. 😀 I can’t believe how expensive these things are brand new. RIDICULOUS. What a scam!

4) I need to buy another twin bed to put it next to DS’s twin in his room. That way, the two oldest can share a big king sized bed and the baby can sleep with us the first month or so. Once the new baby is moved to his room, I’m sure the older two will find their way back into our room at night.

5) I REALLY have to finish our living trust. I had it drawn up when DS was born – over three years ago! I just never read it or had it signed or put anything in it. SO STUPID. Must get this done before DS2 comes along. Otherwise, it’s never going to happen.

6) Since most of my food garden did NOT sprout, I’m wasting a lot of water. So I think I need to plant more stuff – otherwise, I spent a lot of money and water for nothing. I intend to do something soon-ish.

7) Over the years, I have purchased to box freezer to put in the garage and I have stuffed that thing (along with my freezer in the house) as well as my pantry full of food that I don’t even know I have. So, my goal is to eat out of my pantry and freezer for awhile. (Plus, I gotta let the thing defrost.) Perhaps it is finally time to get rid of the gallons of breast milk I have frozen – from DS. (Yeah, you read that right. DS. I gave away all of DD’s milk. I didn’t quite have my act together for DS. I have plans for turning it into soap – but that hasn’t happened. So maybe I really just need to bite the bullet and toss it. BUT IT’S LIQUID GOLD!!!)

But ultimately, it’s silly to have all this food go uneaten – and since DH is unemployed (though receiving a paycheck), I’d rather we buckle down now and spend less on food we already technically have. It’s almost like a treasure hunt. We have a lot of frozen birthday cakes. LOL.

***

I think that’s it for now. When you have too many items on a to-do list, they tend to go undone. *sigh* I guess the first thing I should do is go to the garage and take out all that breast milk and toss it. It physically pains me but must be done. Wish me luck!

So sorry. Forgot to post yesterday. In my defense, I was busy being the worst mom ever. *sigh* I think other than my children eating some strawberries and tofu (not together) and maybe some yogurt, the majority of their diet yesterday consisted of chips, cookies, crackers, snacks, and whatever. I’m not sure I really interacted with my kids because my nose was buried in a book. They may have watched a lot of TV and played a lot with the iPhone. Had minimal naps. Ran amok in general and I really didn’t intervene until someone started crying. Hey, I’m fostering independence!

Then, I made them go to bed early because the night before, they had stayed up late because both DH and I were out at separate events and they didn’t want to listen to my mom. Then, I snuck downstairs, ate a bunch of chips for dinner, and watched the season finale for The Vampire Diaries. Then I felt guilty.

I’m sure THEY had a good time (I was also “babysitting” two other kids) running amok around the house screaming and playing and eating snacks. And I suppose as long as this isn’t an every day occurrence. it’s not horrible. But man, is it tempting to just check out while parenting. *sigh* I blame smartphones.

Today, I WILL BE A BETTER MOMMY. After I finish my new book.
